HOW TO MAKE BUTTER FROSTING



1/3 cup butter or margarine
4 1/2 cups icing sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

In a bowl beat butter or margarine until fluffy. Gradually sift in 2 cups of the icing sugar, beating well.Slowly beat in the milk and vanilla
Slowly beat in remaining icing sugar. Beat in additional milk if necessary so that frosting could be spread easily. Add food coloring if needed.

HOW TO MAKE SMOOTHIES



2 cups Whole milk or coconut cream
2 tablespoon honey
2 cups fresh or frozen fruit
1 egg (optional)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla-only if egg is used
6 cubes ice

Combine ingredients in blender, use immediately or refrigerate.

Food and Drink - Tips

When testing a lage cake to see if its done, use a piece of uncooked spaghetti.



Mix nuts or dry fruits with flour before adding to cake batter, this will keep them fom sinking to the bottom during baking


Add some oil or a lump of margarine to the water and rice , noodles, nor spaghetti won't boil over or stick together.

If a soup is too salty, slice a a raw potato and put it in , this will absorb the salt, discard the potato n after.

HOW TO MAKE SPICES





MIXED SPICE
For baked goods and desserts

1 teaspoon clove powder
1 teaspoon allspice powder
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
1 1/4 teaspoon ginger powder
3/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
pinch black pepper

Mix all ingredients well.





5-SPICE-POWDER

2 tablespoons fennel seeds
36 whole cloves
12 inches of stick cinnamon
12 whole star anise
2 tablespoons black pepper seeds

Put all the ingredients in a blender and ground to a powder.







VEGETABLE RICE MIX
No more plain boring rice


2 cups uncooked rice
1 tablespoon vegetable bouillon powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon celery flakes
2 teaspoon onion flakes
2 teaspoon green pepper flakes
2 teaspoon red pepper flakes.


Mix all ingredients together and store until ready to cook.






SEASONING COATING MIX
For poultry and meat


2 cups flour
2 cups cracker crumbs
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon seasoning salt
1 tablespoon sugar


Mix all ingredients. Store in a covered container in refrigerator.





ROASTING SPICE MIX
For grilling and roasting


8 cloves
2 tablespoons blackpepper seed
1 teaspoon coriander seeds
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/4 teaspoon salt


In a pan heat the cloves, blackpepper, cumin seeds and coriander until you begin to smell the spices. Add oregano and salt . Allow to cool and then grind mixture.

Coat meat with it and leave for 30 minutes to allow flavor to penetrate.

Cream margarine and sugar
until fluffy, beat the eggs and add. Fold in the flour and salt.
Add vanilla essence and a little milk to make a soft dropping consistency

HOW TO MAKE RICE SALAD



2 cups rice
1 can tuna in water
4 hard boiled eggs sliced
4 tomatoes cut into wedges
2 sweet pepper cut into strips
1 cup bora cut into 1 inch length
1 onion cut in strips
2 clove garlic minced
2 tablespoon vinegar
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 bouillon



Cook rice until firm and loose. Stir fry bora, sweet pepper, garlic, onion, tomatoes, vinegar, tuna, bouillon and add to rice. Finally add blackpepper and eggs and mix thoroughly. Add salt if necessary

2 lbs sweet potatoes
2 sweet pepper
1 celery stalk
1 clove garlic
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon mustard

Peel and wash sweet potatoes, cut into cubes and boil in salted water until render and strain.
Wash and cut up sweet peppers, celery, mustard and garlic. Add when sweet potatoes are cold.
Add mayonnaise and mix.

Beauty - Hair

LEMON EGG SHAMPOO

1 egg
1 tsp. lemon juice
3 tbs. unscented shampoo
Fragrance of your choice

Mix ingredients thoroughly, wash hair and rinse.
Great for giving your hair bounce and shine.


HERBAL SHAMPOO

1-cup water
3 tsp rosemary
3 tsp orange peel
3 tsp lavender
3 tsp mint
3 tsp thyme
1 tsp lemon peel
1-cup baby shampoo

Boil water and add herbs. Simmer on very low heat for 15 minutes. Let cool then add baby shampoo. Store in attractive jar and enjoy.

Beauty - Hand Scrubs

HOW TO MAKE HAND SCRUBS


Exfoliate your hands and help them to look smoother and younger.
Always moisturize hands after doing a scrub.



Olive Oil Sugar Scrub

2 tbsp olive oil*
3 tbsp sugar
Mix ingredients and make into a paste and rub hands
Rinse well with warm water

*Baby oil can be used instead of olive oil

Lemon Sugar Scrub

1tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp sugar

Mix ingredients and rub hands, rinse well.

Oatmeal Lemon scrub

2 tbsp oatmeal
1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp olive oil
Mix oatmeal with water to soften, add the lemon juice and olive oil.
Rub on hands and leave for 10 minutes, rinse well.


Apricot Lanolin Cuticle cream

1/2 tsp apricot kernel or emu oil
2 tsp lanolin
1 drop essential oil

Melt oil and lanolin together, add essential oil, pour into jar and let set.
To use massage into cuticles.

Cuticle Cream

T tbsp fuller's earth ( a natural clay substance)
1 tsp olive oil
3 drops lavender essential oil.
Mix into paste and put into jar, massage into nails and cuticle.



Cuticle softener

1 tsp olive oil
1 tsp vitamin E oil
Combine and massage into nails and cuticles.


Nail Brightener

1 denture tablet
1 cup warm water
1-2 drops essential oil
Saturate denture tablet with essential oil, drop he tablet into a bowl of the warm water.
Soak finger tips for 10 minutes, discard after use.

White nails - Liver condition
Half pink /half white nails - Kidney disease
Pale nail beds - Anemia
Yellowing and thickening of the nail, slowed growth rate - Lung disease

Yellow tinged nails with a slight blush at the base - Diabetes

Beauty - Foot Soak

HOW TO MAKE FOOT SOAK



Always apply lotion to feet after doing a scrub or soak.


MILk SOAK


7 cups water
2 cups milk

Mix water and milk, put mixture in bowl and soak feet for 10 mins.
Rinse and dry



LEMON OLIVE SOAK

1 cup lemon juice
2tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup milk

Mix ingredients together and soak feet.
Rinse feet with soap.

Beauty - Body Scrub

HOW TO MAKE BODY SCRUBS



COFFEE BODY SCRUB

2 cups of coarsely ground coffee
1/2 cup raw sugar or sea salt
2-3 T massage oil
Mix all ingredients together. Take a hot shower to moisten your skin and open your pores. Using wide, circular motions, rub the coffee exfoliant onto your skin with strong, even pressure. Shower off, pat skin dry, and apply a thin layer of your favorite body lotion.




MOISTURIZING BODY SCRUB


1/2 cup liquid glycerin
1/2 cup water
2 1/2 to 3 cups sugar or salt (white sugar, brown sugar, or table salt)
1 teaspoon solid coconut butter or solid coconut oil
6 drops of essential oil of your choice, or combine several (not to exceed 6 drops)

Combine glycerin, water, and one cup of sugar or table salt until the salt/sugar has mostly dissolved. Add the remainder of the sugar/salt until you have a rather pasty mixture, at a consistency you prefer. Meanwhile, melt the coconut butter or oil in a small container, in your microwave. MELT, but do not overheat. Stir the melted coconut oil into your sugar mixture, and stir well. Last, add the six drops of essential oils of your choice, stirring to blend. Melt and add more coconut butter or oil to reach your desired consistency. Transfer your mixture to an airtight container or jar, and cool until slightly thickened. Use as an after shower or after bath moisturizing body scrub.

Beauty - Lip Balm

HOW TO MAKE LIP BALM



BASIC LIP BALM



1/4 cup vegetable or nut oil

1/4 ounce beeswax

1 teaspoon honey or glycerine

1/2 to 1 teaspoon natural flavoring oil aka Essential Oil.

Heat the oil and beeswax in a double boiler (or microwave) until the beeswax is melted.

Remove from heat and whip with an electric beater until creamy.

Add the honey or glycerine and approx 5 drops flavoring oil; whip some more. Add more flavoring if desired.

Store in small glass jars, decorative tins or film containers.

Try different oils on your lips to choose the best one for your skin and taste preference.

HOW TO BEAUTY TIPS



Body care

Mix six-teaspoon petroleum jelly, two-teaspoon glycerin and two-teaspoon lemon juice. Apply this moisturizing lotion at least twice a week if you have dry and flaky, arms and legs



If you have cracked heels, melt paraffin wax; mix it with little mustard oil and apply on the affected area. Leave it overnight. After 10 or 15 days, your heels will become smooth.


Massage your body with a mixture of coconut oil and any of your scented oils like lavender or rosemary.
For rough palms, use a mixture of glycerin and lime juice in equal proportion.


Remove scars on your hands and feet by rubbing them with lemon peel.






Eye care

Dip wads of cotton in a chilled mixture of cucumber and potato juice. Keep this on your eyelids for 15 to 20 minutes and gently wash it off. Apply a little baby oil.
For long eyelashes.., apply a thin coat of castor oil every night. It strengthens lashes and cools your eyes.
Massage a few drops of coconut oil around the eyes to get rid off dark circles.

To reduce puffiness of your eyes, grate a potato; tie in a cloth and place the cloth over your eyes for about 15 minutes.

Add a small pinch of salt in water and wash for bright and sparkling eyes.



Place cotton wool swabs dipped in cold milk on closed eyes for removing dark circles.



Rub an eyebrow brush or tooth brush over a wet cake of soap. Brush up your brows they will look thicker and stay in place for hours.







Lip Care

You can mix one-tablespoon cranberry sauce juice with two tablespoons Vaseline for a delicious home made lip balm.


Apply the juice of lemon skin for avoiding black color of lips



Pat foundation on lips then apply lipstick. Place a tissue over your lips and press to blot.
Leaving tissue in place, dust translucent powder or baby powder on your lips through the tissue. Enough powder seeps through the tissue to set lipstick without changing color, this will make your lipstick last.




Healthy and Shiny hair

It is better to apply castor oil for a healthy growth of hair.

Wash hair with tea once in a week.


Apply the mixture of an egg white, 2 spoon of castor oil, 1 spoon glycerin, in the scalp and hair. Wash it after some time.

Massage hair with warm coconut oil an hour before washing. Let it soak. Cover your head with a hot towel and wash your hair after an hour or so.








Glowing skin

A facemask of egg white and honey gently removes the tan from your face.

Cucumber is a natural cleanser. Mix cucumber juice with milk and use it instead of a cleanser.

For oily skin, apply a mixture of grapes, lemon and egg
white Leave it for 20 minutes and rinse with warm water.
While lemon acts as a natural cleanser, grapes will soften your skin and egg whites will tighten it. Don’t be alarmed if your skin tingles.


Mix honey, lemon and vegetable oil .This mixture is a good moisturizer for dry skin. Apply this mask for 10 minutes.
Apply the mixture of honey and milk on the face . This will make your skin glow.

Prepare a mask by mixing a slice of pumpkin with egg yolk and milk. Let this mask set on your face for 30 minutes for a glowing skin.
Mix half-a-cup honey to your bath water for soft and smooth skin.


Carrot juice applied daily fades blemishes.

For dark underarms and neck apply lemon juice mixed with cucumber juice and a pinch of turmeric daily. Leave this on for 20 minutes.

For removing facial hair.. Apply a sticky paste of egg white blended with sugar and corn flour. When it dries, gently peel it off. Repeat this three to four times a week.

Thin apple slices rubbed onto oily skin will help in controlling oily shine.

For supple skin, apply a ripe smashed banana on your face for 20 minutes daily.
Cauliflower juice applied on warts regularly will make them fall.

For a fair skin, try this natural bleach. Mix orange peels (sun dried and powdered) with milk. Apply this paste for 25 minutes and wash off.

Apply the mixture of tomato juice and honey on the face and neck , wash it after 15 minutes.


Add a pinch of yeast with 2 teaspoon of vinegar and 1 teaspoon milk apply.

Mix 1 table spoon of barley powder with half teaspoon of lime juice and 1 teaspoon of honey. Apply it on the face and wash after 20 minutes.

Mix pineapple juice and carrot juice together and apply it on the face and wash it after 15 minutes.

Apply the mixture of coconut water and thick pineapple juice.

Make a paste with 1/2 teaspoon of milk powder, 1/4 teaspoon of egg white and 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice and apply on the face.

For dry skin, Make a paste with egg yolk, olive oil and lemon juice. Apply it on the neck and face, wash it out after 10 minutes.

For oily skin, take a mixture of oatmeal and egg white and apply it on the neck and face







Mix a little vinegar in warm water and rinse your hair with this solution. This will add bounce to dull and lifeless hair.



For Black Spots

Crush garlic and take the juice and apply it on the face daily to reduce pimples

Basic Perfume Recipe

2 cups water

1 cup fresh chopped flower blossoms



In a bowl place a cheese cloth over a bowl and let the edges hang over the sides

Fill with flower blossoms, pour water over the flowers until they are covered,leave overnight.

The next day using the edges of the cheese cloth, pull it out of the bowl and gently squeeze the scented water in a small pot.

Simmer the water until 1 teaspoon is left, cool and place into a small bottle.

Shelf life 1 month

Use flowers that are highly fragrant.

How to make Facial Masks

HOW TO MAKE FACIAL MASKS




CREAM CHOCOLATE MASK

1/3 cup cocoa powder

3 tbsp. heavy cream

2 tsp. cottage cheese

1/4 cup honey

3 tsp. oatmeal

Mix all ingredients together and smooth onto face.

Relax for ten 10 minutes, then wash off with warm water.

EGG HONEY MASK

1 tbsp honey*

1 egg yolk

Mix the honey and egg yolk, apply to face.

Leave for 15 minutes and rinse well with warm water.

*!/4 mashed avocado can be substituted for the honey.

LEMON EGG MASK

1/2 lemon juice

1 egg white

Beat egg white, mix with lemon juice.

Apply to face and leave for 15 minutes

Rinse with warm water

TOMATO OATMEAL MASK

1 tomato (soft)

1 tsp oatmeal (instant)

1tsp lemon juice

Blend ingredients, apply to face and leave for 15 minutes

Rinse with warm water

PAPAYA ALOE

1/4 papaya (ripe)

! 1/2 tsp aloe vera gel

Mash papaya to pulp, add aloe vera gel.

Rub on face leave for 10 minutes

Rise with cool water.

HONEY MILK MASK

2tbsp honey

2 tsp milk*

Mix ingredients and apply to face .

Leave on for 10 minutes rinse with warm water.

*2 tbsp yogurt can be substituted for the milk.

FIRMING FACE MASK

1 tbsp honey

1 egg white

1 tsp glycerin

1/4 cup flour

Mix ingredients together and apply to face.

Leave for 10 minutes and rinse with warm water.

PUMPKIN PAPAYA FACIAL

2/3 cup fresh papaya, mashed

15 oz. can pure pumpkin

1 egg

Prepare the mask. Cut the papaya and remove the seeds, add egg and pumpkin. Put in a

bleder and blend until smooth..

Apply the Mask. Cover your entire face, being careful to avoid the immediate eye area. Leave

the mask on for 10 minutes.

Rinse off mask.

HOW TO MAKE CHICKEN CURRY



Ingredients:

1 whole garlic
1 small hot pepper
2 medium size onions
2 tablespoons of oil
2 tablespoons of ground curry powder
3 pounds of chicken cut into small pieces
4 medium size potatoes, peeled and quartered
1/2 tablespoons garam massala
1 piece of cinnamon stick

Preparation:

Grind garlic, 1 onion, and pepper Heat oil
in stew pan. Add mixture of ground garlic,
pepper and onion, garam massala and curry
powder.

Allow to fry on slow heat for about 3 to 4
minutes. Add the chicken and potatoes and
salt to taste.

Add the cinnamon stick. Cook on slow heat
for 15 to 20 minutes. Add one cup of water
and sprinkle one chipped onion.

Next bring to a boil for 20 minutes until
the potatoes are fully cooked.

Note: Curried beef or lamb or even duck may be prepared
in a similar manner.

1 orange
1 banana
1 cup raisins
1 3/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1\4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Cut unpeeled orange and remove seeds.Combine orange banana and raisins in food processor until coarsely chopped.Cream margarine, sugar and eggs with electric mixture until creamy. Stir in fruit mixture. Add flour baking soda, cinnamon and salt and milk and cream with mixer. Spread batter into a greased square pan and bake at 350'F for 60 minutes





HOW TO MAKE CHERRY CAKE




1 1/4 cup margarine
2 3/4 cup sugar
5 eggs
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
2 cups candied cherries


In a large bowl put margarine, sugar and eggs and beat with electric mixture until creamy.Add flour baking soda and salt and milk, Beat slightly with electric mixture.. mix in cherries.
Pour batter into a greased round pan. Bake at 350'F for 60 minutes .

HOW TO MAKE BANANA BREAD


2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon soda
1 cup milk
1/2 cup margarine or shortening
1 egg
1 cup mashed bananas (2-3)
1/2 cup nuts or raisin (optional)


Mix together the sugar and butter, add egg, bananas and milk..

Add soda, salt and flour.

Mix well.


Spread in greased loaf pan and bake at 350* for 50 minutes.
Let bread cool and remove from pan.





HOW TO MAKE TEA RING


Dough

4 cups Flour
1 pk instant yeast
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup margarine
1 egg


Filling
1 tbsp margarine
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
2/'3 cup chopped nuts
2/3 cup chopped candied cherries
2/3 cup raisins


Combine, 3 1/2 cups flour, yeast, margarine, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Heat milk and water and add to flour mixture with egg. Make a dough, knead and add reaming flour as necessary. Cover and leave to rise for 20 minutes.

Roll dough on floured surface into a rectangle, spread the margarine from the filling. Sprinkle the remaining ingredients and roll up tightly, in jelly roll style. Bring ends together and seal well. Place seam side down in a circle on greased baking sheet.Cut 2/3 way into ring at 1 1/2 inch intervals with scissors. Twist each piece on its side.. Cover with towel to rise until size is doubled. Bake at 400" for 20 minutes.




HOW TO MAKE BASIC MUFFINS



1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Put in a large bowl, margarine, sugar, salt and eggs and beat with electric mixer.
Add flour and milk until well mixed.
Put into greased muffin pans and bake at 375' F for 20 minutes

For variations you can add 1 cup strawberry or blueberry or raspberry or cranberry or chocolate to batter.





HOW TO MAKE DINNER ROLLS



3 1/2 cups flour
1 pk yeast
1 1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup margarine
1 egg

Mix yeast with a little warm water, add remaining ingredients and make into a dough, let rise for 40 minutes
Divide dough into 4 parts. Take one part and roll into a circle, now divide into four then divide each piece into two. You should have eight pieces. Take each piece and roll it up starting with the broad side.

Repeat this process for the remaining dough.You should have 32 rolls. Place them on baking sheets and leave to rise for 30 minutes.

Bake at 400" F for 10 minutes.






HOW TO MAKE BREAKFAST PANCAKES





! 1/2 cup flour
2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon sugar
2 eggs beaten
1 1/2 cup milk
3 tbsp vegetable oil

In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Combine eggs ,milk and oil. Add to flour mixture. Stir until well blended.
Heat griddle, you might need to grease it.
Pour 1/4 cup batter onto griddle and bake, turn with spatula and brown other side. Use the same method for the rest of the batter.




HOW TO MAKE CRANBERRY BREAD

2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 orange
2 tablespoon margarine
2 cups halved cranberries

In a bowl put flour, baking powder, sugar and salt
In a measuring cup combine the juice and grated rind of the orange, and melted margarine. Add water to the mixture to make 3/4 cup. Pour this mixture into dry ingredients, add cranberries and nuts. Mix well. Put into greased loaf pan.
Bake at 350'F for 50 minutes.



HOW TO MAKE EASY TUNA SANDWICHES


1 can tuna in water (drained)
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons chopped onions

1 tablespoon chopped sweet pepper
4 slices bread
1 sliced tomato

Combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise and onions. Place mixture on bread
Top with tomatoes

How to make coffee beans candles

HOW TO MAKE CANDLES WITH COFFEE BEANS; SEA SHELLS ; BIRD SEED

Making your own candles at home can be enjoyable an inexpensive.You can use the basic candle recipe and experiment with different options

Basic Candle Making Instructions

Heat your double boiler or wax carrier slowly to the proper temperature, place the paraffin wax into the carrier.

Heating the wax to a temperature of 140-degrees is generally sufficient.

Stir your melting wax gently with a wooden spoon.

As the wax is melting, spray the inside of your moulds with cooking spray and set-aside.

Once the wax is melted, you can add your scents and coloring. Stir gently so that the scent

and color can be blended in.

Pour in the wax into your moulds, leaving at least once inch at the top.

Get your wicks ready by tying one end to the middle of a pencil. Drop the free end of the wick into the wax and rest the pencil on top of the mould.

Allow your wax to harden, then tip your mold upside down so that your candle can slide

out freely. Cut the wick to the desired length

.

Coffee Bean Candle

While the wax is melting, cut a juice box to the desired length, brush inside with liquid

paraffin. Throw coffee beans in the box so that it attaches to the bottom and sides.

Using a hot pad, lift your wax carrier out of the water and pour slowly into your juice box to 3/4 full. Fill box up with liquid candle, leaving at least a one-inch margin on the top of the box

Get your wicks, tying one end to the middle of a pencil. Slowly drop the free end of the wick into the wax, and rest the pencil on top of the mold. This will prevent your wick from falling into the wax as it's hardening.

Allow your wax to harden overnight before attempting to remove your candles from their molds, but this may not always be necessary, depending on the size of your candle. Once the wax has hardened, you should be able to tip your mold upside down, allowing your new candle to slide out freely.



Seashell Candle


Using the same method, substitute small seashells for the coffee beans.

Bird Seed Candle

For this candle use a round mold. After candle has hardened, pour some liquid candle in tray covered with foil, Throw some bird seed in tray. Roll large candle in tray , then sprinkle more seed on candle and allow to dry
